PIRATES NEWSLETTER – No 44 10.12.07

GRAND PRIX REGATTA – CHAMPION LAKES – SUNDAY 9 DECEMBER

Congratulations, a tremendous effort by the whole team. Please note in your dairies that the next regatta is on 20 January. It is proposed to include some corporate crews in the next regatta so if you can get a team together thru your work or know any companies interested encourage them to enter a team and have some fun. Entry will be $240.00 per crew of which we will get $120.00. The races will be over 200m and we can organise some basic training in the lead up to the regatta.

Attached are the Grand Prix regatta points table.

RACING SHIRTS

The new shirts will be ready from the week commencing 17 December. Those who have not already paid could you please do so ASAP (see Anne). The price is $35.00, which is hugely subsidised thanks to a new sponsor Seadrill.

END OF YEAR/XMAS FUNCTION
Don’t forget this function on Saturday 15 December – see attached flyer. Money to Ian by Tuesday 11 December.

MAYLANDS SPORT AND RECREATION CLUB (MSRC)

We are all members of MSRC which runs the facility at Maylands. The MSRC currently has a vacancy for Secretary and this would be a good opportunity for Pirates to get another person represented on this management committee. Currently we on hold one position on the committee. Please see me if you are interested in taking on this position.
